The George W. Bush library opens today, joining an impressive collection of tributes to past leaders.
The Bush Center's 226,000-square-foot building and 15-acre urban park reside on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
The Center is home to the Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the Bush Institute.
The Center is the 13th presidential library in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) system. The Library and Museum promote an understanding of the American presidency and provides access to official records and artifacts from the Bush Presidency.
The Center officially opens to the public on May 1, 2013.
Bush was joined by every living president for the dedication, including President Barack Obama and former Presidents Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush and Jimmy Carter.
Bush was also joined by every living first lady, including Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush and Rosalynn Carter.

"Laura and I gave the presidency eight years of our life," said Bush. We gave it our all. Made the best judgment calls I could. I didn't compromise my principles. And I'm a content man. And I am excited about what we're going to do here."

1939 - Year of the groundbreaking of Roosevelt's Presidential Library and Museum, in Hyde Park, New York.
