Power lines, trees down following heavy storms
The whole region was hit by several strong storms yesterday afternoon and now people are cleaning up the mess that was left behind. Click here to see viewer photos of yesterday's storms.
In the attached picture, a large oak tree on Dogwood Lane in Johnson City fell on a home and also brought down power lines.
Emergency crews are reminding us all to take extra care while cleaning up after the storms that pounded the area yesterday.
Here are ways to stay safe -- watch for storm debris, downed power lines and tree limbs on the roads.
Also be especially careful while using chainsaws. Wear proper protection such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and legwear.
During cleanup, avoid straining yourself while lifting and moving heavy objects or loads.
