There's a warning about a scam targeting customers with Johnson City Power -- someone is posing as a Power Board employee demanding money to prevent disconnection of service.
We're told customers have been getting phone calls threatening to turn off their power. Johnson City Power officials say the scammers are intimidating customers with false stories about faulty meters that require a technician to visit their address.
We're told the scammers attempt to convince unsuspecting victims to purchase a prepaid gift card over the phone to avoid any disconnection of services.
Concerned customers are asked to contact (423) 952-5272.
