Graham Clark enjoying preseason football
High school football teams in Tennessee can start practicing July 29. But some local squads aren't waiting that long to shake the rust off.
Wednesday evening Dobyns-Bennett, Elizabethton, Maryville and Jefferson County competed in a seven-on-seven scrimmage at Carson-Newman.
"It's always great to go against good competition," DB head coach Graham Clark told News 5 WCYB.
"It's a great way of getting conditioned. The quarterback is throwing the ball without a bunch of people running at him. You get not only Maryville but Elizabethton and Jefferson County. Those are three good teams you get to throw against in two hours time."
Dobyns-Bennett opens the season Aug. 22 against Farragut.
