Teens sentenced in sexual assault case
Three teenagers convicted in Russell County, Virginia of sexually assaulting a classmate have received suspended sentences.
The former Castlewood High School students must complete a detention and diversion program.
Kenneth Otto Purkey, 16, Jonathan Corey Lasley, 17, Nicholas Wythe Kiser, 16, were convicted earlier this year on charges of object sexual penetration and conspiracy.
A judge sentenced all three teens to a 10 year suspended prison sentence.
In addition, Kiser will serve 6 months in jail before entering the detention and diversion programs.
All three will be placed on supervised probation after they complete the programs.
